Wolgamott’s Voter Pre-registration Bill Not Good Policy

With thousands of bills getting introduced each year in the Minnesota Legislature there are bound to be plenty of bad ideas, clunkers, and quite frankly poorly thought out “solutions.”

House File 3021, as introduced by Rep. Dan Wolgamott, “permits an individual who is under the age of 18, but is at least 16 years of age, to preregister to vote by submitting a voter registration application.”

Perhaps the author of the bill believes that all 18-year-olds continue to live in their parent’s basement after graduating high school and don’t move away?

Think the bill sounds a little off kilter? Check it out for yourself here.
