Parks and recreation users versus logging expansion? When faced with the longstanding debate last week, Beltrami County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 in favor of expansion.
According to the Bemidji Pioneer, County Administrator Tony Murphy says: “Beltrami County Natural Resource Management oversees about 147,000 acres of forested public land. Park and recreation areas make up about 2 percent of that acreage.”
