Rest in Peace, Mia Love

Recently we learned that two-term and the first Black Republican Congresswoman Mia Love passed away peacefully after battling brain cancer. She was 49 years old. Minnesota Civic Seal: Empowering the Next Generation of Engaged Citizens

“Our democracy thrives on the active participation of informed and engaged citizens.”  This new initiative, the Minnesota Civic Seal, awards a special recognition on a student’s high school diploma for meeting “specific requirements in civic knowledge, government, or related subjects that meet or exceed state standards.” This sounds like a great idea that eight other states have embraced.  …
