“62.5 percent of adults lived in wireless-only households – those where there is no landline but at least one cellphone – between January and June of 2020.
There are significant differences between Americans in wireless-only households and those who still have landlines:
Majorities of Americans in wireless-only households:
- Age 18-24 (73 percent)
- Age 25-29 (80 percent)
- Age 30-34 (83 percent)
- Age 35-44 (75 percent)
- Age 45-64 (59 percent)
But only 35 percent of seniors aged 65 and older are wireless-only.
