Pushing an unpopular policy? Call it something else!

John Kerry and Barbara Boxer recently introduced the Senate version of “cap and trade.” Strangely absent from their cap and trade bill: the words “cap and trade.” That’s not to say that Kerry and Boxer have abandoned the business-killing carbon cap provisions we saw in the Markey-Waxman House bill. They’ve just decided to ditch the title”cap and trade” in favor of “pollution reduction.” As theNew York Timesreported, Kerry “sought to change the vernacular surrounding the climate bill and sell its concepts more broadly.” In other words, the Kerry-Boxer approach to policymaking: When you’re stuck pushing an unpopular policy that kills jobs and hurts taxpayers, just change the name!

“Not Evil Just Wrong” filmmaker silenced while confronting Gore

Phelim McAleer, producer/director of “Not Evil Just Wrong” recently confronted Al Gore in person in Milwaukee. The incident, which you can watch here, was sadly predictable. For having the gall to question Gore about several court-confirmed inaccuracies in “An Inconvenient Truth,” Gore’s event organizers shut off Mr. McAleer’s microphone. After learning the devastating truth about Gore’s shaky science and extreme agenda in “Not Evil Just Wrong,” you’ll understand why the former Vice President had no desire to engage the man who made the movie.
