One of the only bright spots during the entire COVID-19 pandemic was that the curtain was pulled back for many parents on what their children were being taught (or not) in their local public school.
As a result, it was estimated that nationwide, homeschool enrollment surged nationwide, from an estimated 2-3% to approximately 11% at its highest point.
While participation in a home school environment has leveled off to 4.5% nationwide, Minnesota still has one of the largest numbers of homeschooling families in the nation.
However, research and data for these parents has been sporadic, at best.
Enter Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy and EdChoice: they have developed and launched a first-of-its-kind “homeschool hub” that features “comprehensive data on the history, regulations and participation data for homeschooling in all 50 states.”
