As many of you know, the Freedom Foundation of Minnesota has conducted several studies on how Minnesota’s high personal income tax rates influences both in-and -out migration.
Earlier this year, the DFL-controlled House of Representatives voted to add a fifth income tax rate of 11.15% which would give Minnesota the second highest income tax rate in the nation.
Apparently the DFL is so hungry for additional cash to spend they’re willing to ignore the simple fact that “money walks” – and in our case, it walks away from Minnesota.
You can see for yourself how the state currently compares by checking out this map that shows the continued migration of Minnesota income to lower taxed states with better climate. And fewer riots.
