That’s right, you read the headline correctly.
We didn’t make this headline up.
Illinois state Representative La Shawn K. Ford, D-Chicago, recently joined “leaders in education, politics and other areas to ask that the Illinois State Board of Education change the history curriculum at schools statewide, and temporarily halt instruction until an alternative is decided upon.”
His reason for proposing this radical idea?
Representative La Shawn believes that “teaching of history in the [Illinois] “leads to white privilege and a racist society. Until a suitable replacement curriculum can be approved and implemented by the representative, he proposes that school districts “immediately remove history curriculum and books that unfairly communicate history.”
It matters who we elect, people.
