MARSHALL: $600,000 Later, Should City be in Housing Business?

Should cities be in the development business? Though that specific question didn’t come up in Marshall’s latest discussion on loan repayment for the Parkway II development, maybe it should have. 

From the article in the Marshall Independent:

“Despite some disagreements and split votes among the council members, it was mostly silence that greeted a series of proposals intended to pay back more than $600,000 in loans and other funding to the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund and the Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership.”
