With the DFL solidly in control of state government in 2013 for the first time since 1986, and labor’s enthusiasm for wage hikes, minimum wage policy appears likely to get a rewrite. Before liberal policymakers impose strict new wage mandates on employers, they should consider the effect a new state-mandated wage hike would have on the very Minnesotans it ostensibly is intended to help.
