Late last year, Ohio officials announced that they were launching a pilot program to bring broadband Internet service to unserved regions of the state using StarLink “low-orbit satellite technology developed by SpaceX.”
If successful, this state-of-the-art technology will provide download speeds “in excess of the government’s definition of high-speed Internet” service.
Satellite broadband will also be able to hook households up immediately and “leapfrog” states that continue to seek ways to provide service to hard-to-reach regions of the state.
