Every two years, the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) test is administered to thousands of American 4th and 8th grade students.
In 2018, they tested American eighth graders on American history, civics, and geography.
Needless to say, the test scores were recently released, and they were appalling.
“The test scores in American history and civics were particularly alarming, with only 24 percent of students performing at or above the “proficient” level in civics and an anemic 15 percent exhibiting a satisfactory knowledge and understanding of American history. “
