A 14-year-old student at Richfield Middle School endured repeated sexual assault by a 23-year-old man who worked at her school.
After he admitted to the sexual assaults and pleaded guilty to one count each of first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct”, he was “put on probation and sentenced to time in the county workhouse.”

According to the Star Tribune, “[O}ver the objections of the prosecution, Judge Sarah West set aside a 14 1/4-year term and sentenced Moton to a year in the workhouse and five years’ supervised probation.”
Who is Judge Sarah West?
She is the very same judge that overturned a guilty verdict handed down by a jury late last year. In that case, the defendant was convicted of six counts of “aiding and abetting theft through fraudulent reimbursement claims submitted to Medicaid by a business he owned.”
This case was brought forth by the US Attorney’s office as part of the largest Medicaid fraud ever recorded in this country. Judge Sarah West was appointed by Gov. Mark Dayton and assumed office in 2018.
Her current term ends on Jan. 4, 2027 which means she will be on the ballot this November for voters who live in Hennepin County.
It matters who Minnesotans elect as governor this November.
