WILLMAR: Man Pleads Guilty of Food Stamp Fraud

In a crime that costs taxpayers, a Willmar man was charged for welfare fraud after it was found he has worked at several Willmar companies while improperly receiving benefits.

From the article:

“According to the complaint, Dora Sorto had received public assistance from Kandiyohi County Family Services since 2003. The couple had a child in 2006 and at that time she claimed Merlin Sorto couldn’t work because he was in the country illegally.”
